Grand Traverse County COVID-19 report and public exposure sites 8/27

For Thursday, August 27, 2020 the Grand Traverse County Health Department is reporting out 22 new cases of confirmed COVID-19. Thursday’s additions bring the total case count to 300 with 167
recovered and six deaths, leaving 127 active cases.

While conducting case investigations, the Grand Traverse County Health Department identified two locations in which a confirmed COVID-19 case was present at. See below for location, date and times.

Meijer, Traverse City location:

Thursday, August 13 from 12:30 – 9 p.m.
Friday, August 14 from 12:30 – 9 p.m.
Saturday, August 15 from 12:30 – 9 p.m.
Sunday, August 16 from 12:30 – 9 p.m.
Monday, August 17 from 12:30 – 9 p.m.
Tuesday, August 18 from 12:30 – 9 p.m.

Family Fare, Chums Corner location:
Wednesday, August 19 from 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Thursday, August 20 from 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

If you were present at either of these locations during the listed time periods, you should self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms for 14 days since the possible exposure, particularly if you were not wearing a mask or maintaining 6 foot distance from others. Symptoms include: fever, cough,
shortness of breath, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle aches, repeated shaking with chills, headache, sore throat and new loss of taste or smell. Anyone that is self-monitoring as a result should keep away from the public, family, close contacts and roommates as much as possible.

Anyone who was identified as a close contact is contacted directly by the Grand Traverse County Health Department individually and told to quarantine. Investigations are ongoing and many cases are close contacts to existing cases and have been quarantined previously.
