Thursday, November 26th – 46 new cases and 1 COVID-19 associated death
Friday, November 27th – 71 new cases
Saturday, November 28th – 29 new cases
Sunday, November 29th – 34 new cases
Monday, November 30th – 13 new cases

As a reminder, and to better align with the MI Safe State Dashboard, the Grand Traverse County Health Department is now combining both probable and confirmed cases for the county. A probable case is defined as either an individual who has been epidemiologically linked with a positive case and has developed symptoms, or someone who has received a positive antigen test result. Many of these probable cases are tested and become confirmed cases and it becomes difficult to represent this information clearly on our website.

Additionally, future press releases as well as the Grand Traverse County Health Department’s dashboard will no longer report ‘recovered’ or ‘active’ cases in the community. In an effort to better represent the pandemic risk indicators in our county, the percent positivity rate which reflects the percentage of all COVID-19 tests performed in the county that come back positive will now be reported in place of those categories. This number helps public health experts to better understand how widespread the community transmission is and whether or not enough testing is being done.

Community spread is very prevalent now and any activity or venue is an opportunity for exposure. The Grand Traverse County Health Department will no longer publish potential COVID-19 public exposure sites or case investigation summaries. The below case investigation summary will be the last that is reported.

Due to the current caseload, we must focus our efforts on case investigation and contact tracing for the most vulnerable populations.
