To ensure equitable distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine, the Grand Traverse County Health Department is mobilizing satellite vaccine clinics throughout the county in the coming weeks and months. The first satellite clinic is scheduled at Fife Lake Township Office (134 Morgan St. Fife Lake,
MI 49633) on Friday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“Now that we have hit our stride with administering vaccine at Northwestern Michigan College’s Hagerty Center, we are able to reach out to residents in some of the corners of the county that are more rural. We need to ensure that we are offering the vaccine to those that may not have the capability or means to drive into Traverse City for an appointment,” said Health Officer, Wendy Hirschenberger. “It is imperative that we continue to strive for equitable distribution of the vaccine. We are happy that Fife Lake Township Office was willing to partner with us and provide a space and scheduling to us in our efforts.”
The clinic is available to anyone 18 years of age and older. To schedule an appointment, call Fife Lake Township Office, 231-879-3963. Township hours are: Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Additional satellite clinics will be announced in the coming weeks.
