GTCHD satellite vaccination clinic in Fife Lake remains as scheduled; will now offer Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in place of Johnson and Johnson

Grand Traverse County Health Department (GTCHD) wants the public to know that all appointments scheduled at the Fife Lake satellite clinic on Friday, April 16, 2021 will be honored as first dose appointments with the Pfizer vaccine with a scheduled return date of Friday, May 7, 2021 for the second dose. This comes on the heels of the recommendation by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to pause the use of the Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.

See earlier press release for additional details regarding the pause.
“Although we are following the recommendation by MDHHS and the CDC to pause the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, we are in the fortunate position of being able to pivot and use our Pfizer vaccine supply to honor the appointments that have already been made. We encourage people to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and protect themselves during this current surge in cases statewide” said Health Officer, Wendy Hirschenberger.
